Our History
Southeastern Housing Preservation, Inc. (SHPI) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization incorporated in 1994 for the purpose for the preservation of affordable housing. SHPI develops, owns, maintains and provides economic assistance to rental housing projects for persons of low or moderate income levels. It currently either owns outright or has an interest in numerous multi-family affordable housing properties, most of which are financed by USDA, Rural Development under Section 515(b) of the National Housing Act of 1949. SHPI is active in the Southeast U.S.

Resident Success
Our objective is to enhance the standard of living of our residents by facilitating their journey toward self-reliance. As a part of our approach to address the demand for safe and affordable housing, we offer scholarships to our residents and other pathways to financial independence and self-sufficiency.
Preserving Affordable Housing
As an AHP Grant Sponsor, we recognize that building strong communities begins with affordable housing. Through offering rental and homeownership opportunities, we support tenants and their families in building personal assets and achieving financial stability, while also fostering active engagement within the communities they call home.
